LDS Philanthropies Misalignment

I worked for the Telefund at LDS Philanthropies for eight months. During my time there I made calls to BYU alumni to ask for donations. Our goal as callers is to generate the most donations by charging a credit card or sending out a pledge form that will be returned with a check or cash. In the telefund we are paid on an hourly basis. There is no monetary reason for callers to try harder to sell because they are not rewarded. This is a misalignment that leads to dissatisfaction when callers who are doing very well get paid the same as others who don't achieve the same result. The strategic objective is to get the greatest amount of donation from alumni, but the compensation within the organization doesn't align with that objective.
